Not to me. Should be a G rating for this weight. 12000 lbs is closer to E rating.

Silly question. Was the earlier trailer a tandem axle and the new trailer a triple axle?

No both tandem

Check the specs on the trailer. It will show the weight ratings of the axles. The tires should have at least the same rating as the GAWR of the axles. I like to have at least 20% extra tire weight carrying capacity above GAWR. Mine are at 45% above GAWR now.

The Goodyear Marathon ST trailer tire listings I found at Tire Rack only go up to E load rating at 3420 lbs. each at 80 psi. So a pair would be rated at 6840 lbs.

I'm guessing yours has 7000 lb. or 8000 lb. axles. A Goodyear LT235/85R-16 L.R. G is rated for 3750 lbs. at 110 psi, so it's rated for 7500 per axle. That's the highest rating I could find for a 16" Goodyear tire.

I would get the new Endurance over Marathon.

I do recommend tires that cover the full trailer GVWR. No Marathon has a rating close to 4250. That is like a 19.5 commercial tire.

^^^ What he said. Looks like the Endurance goes up to 4080 lbs. with an E load rating in a ST tire. ST tires are rated for more load than the same size LT tire. Just have to be sure the wheels are wide enough.

As I learned the hard way, for bigger trailers go G load rated tires or stay home.

ST tire? Maxxis.

LT tire? Michelin XPS Rib or Bridgestone Duravis.

Also make sure you check the speed rating of the tires you are considering. Would hate to buy all those tires only to find out later they are rated for 62mph.
