I do get your point. There is no disputing an electric heater is cheaper. However the fireplace is all about ambiance and push button convenience. Do you simply want warmth or do you want ambiance
Kind of like comparing a real campfire to a fake propane campfire in a can. Both may warm you up but they are not the same
