Hijaker 16k ddouble pivot

Any one have a manual for the old Hijaker 16k hitch that had has the adjustment bolt on the back of the hitch head need the info on how much tighten the bolt and also the tork amount on all the bolts. Thanks
  • Had ours for 10 years and two trucks. Simple design, works great. Can't understand why anyone would go with the "jaws" as opposed to this slide bar. Easy to use, and impossible to high hitch.

That adjustment bolt is a bit of trial and error. You want it as snugs as you can go without creating a situation where the release handle is hard to pull. You should be able to use a standard torque chart for the bolt size and grade. If I recall they are 5/8" bolts and should be able to handle 90 ft lbs without any problem.

I love mine! I got it in 1997 and it has served well in two trucks and with two trailers. I repainted it a few years ago and Hijacker sent me new labels. Since then they have sold the company and are no longer based in Victoria, BC.

Thanks, I have had mine now for 11 years, now on my second truck beautiful hitch.

I found that the bolts are 1/2" and call for 90-100 lbs. Chris

    Manual

I had the original manual but can't find it...doesn't really matter as the information about the adjustment is the same as it is in this one!
