I think you mean an F250 or 350 if it's a diesel truck. In my opinion you will be O.K. without a slider hitch. Many on here like the Reese hitch. I personally don't like them and had problems with mine trying to get it to release. I had a tri fold cover and had to sell it when I went to a Mor/ryde pin box because it would hit the cover. Another problem I had with the tri fold cover is that it wanted to blow off in extremely high winds when travelling out west. I now have a rollup Truxedo Lo Pro QT cover that works quite well for me.
