I was commenting that one can do as they deem fit.
No sliding hitch mfg. recommends towing at speed with slider rearward.
Recommended 5th wheel pin weight is 20% - 25% of trailers total weight
(TT is 10% - 15%)
The 360# weight is very low pin weight
20% of 5000# would be 1000#
So where are you getting the 360# pin weight figure?

Dry pin is 500# (18% of dry weight---2820#)
IF you carry carry aluminum box under your arm it would be difficult for that light of weight on rear of 5vr to change/unload pin weight
How was pin weight set down on your scale ?
Did you get front landing gear completely unloaded/off the ground?
