No sliding hitch mfg. recommends towing at speed with slider rearward.
Have you verified that or is that an assumption?

Recommended 5th wheel pin weight is 20% - 25% of trailers total weight
(TT is 10% - 15%)
I see that recommended by many people, but not by all.
Vertical Load (Kingpin) Percentage Recommended range - 15-25%I have read other sites stating 10 to 25%.

The 360# weight is very low pin weight
20% of 5000# would be 1000#
So where are you getting the 360# pin weight figure?
I agree it is low. From what I see, using the OEM numbers it would have only been 8.8% from the factory.
I got the 360 pin weight from weighing. Truck & trailer= 13600. Truck only = 8500. That leaves total trailer weight of 5100. Trailer axles only on scales = 4740. Pin = 5100-4740 or 360.

On Edit:
See you posted 'specs'
Dry pin is 500# (18% of dry weight---2820#)
I think the 2820 on the manufacture spec is for one axle. Times 2 = 5640. That is 8.8%
My trailer is 2380 rear axle plus 2360 front axle = 4740. Pin weight 7.6%

IF you carry carry aluminum box under your arm it would be difficult for that light of weight on rear of 5vr to change/unload pin weight
My post said the aluminum box is mounted using about 9' of 2"x 2" sq tubing. I can easily
carry it contents under one arm. I am guessing the box, its mounting and contents could be 150 lbs.

How was pin weight set down on your scale ?
Did you get front landing gear completely unloaded/off the ground?
Neither was necessary, see above.
