Honda Generator

With the Honda MODEL EU3000is, can the A/C and most of the trailer lights run at the same time? How about the microwave, can that run with the A/C on? How does this model compare to the EU2000 for quietness?

If your AC is running you might be able to start the microwave, but I am doubting that you can have the microwave running and have the AC start. Air conditioners take a lot of power to start.

And you can be sure that you can NOT start them both at the same time !
  • ran two 2000's in parallel, could run my big AC, but always drop to fan when she wanted to use the Microwave. That seemed to be the only issue, could run any combo of anything else. Just not both of those large draws together.

  • I put an extra set of wheels on my 3000. I can roll it up a set of ramps into the truck by myself. It is very quiet, we can't hear it running inside the trailer over the sound of the A/C. I haven't tried running A/C and microwave.

Edit: The manual for my 13.5k A/C recommends a 3500watt generator. One weekend last summer it tripped out on overload a few times with just the A/C running. This Year it only did it once.
  • Most likely no. With the AC running the current draw is gonna just about tax out the generator. The lights are most all DC power so not really
An issue. A better choice would be two Honda 2000 units in parallel. They are quite and much lighter weight and easy to carry. That 3000 is heavy.

But yes you will be able to run AC and all the lights, TVs , etc at one time with that 3000. Just would hav to turn AC to fan only while running the microwave
  • If you are only running ONE A/C unit, you probably can also run the microwave.

The EU3000is is quite a bit larger and heavier than than EU2000. Similar noise levels.
