Hotwater Tank

We bought a 2011 copper canyon 5 wheel, I can't get the water tank to cut in on 110 vote, got the switch turned on on the tank, the thank work fine on propane,I took the wires off of the elment but there is no power on those wires, any help would be great, thank you.
