You are in 1 ton drw range. You are not going to get great mileage towing that big of rig with any truck. Around town the 2013 and up Rams get better mileage then the 2012. I had a 2012 Ram Laramie DRW 4x4 CC max tow 4:10 68re. The computer use to say I avg. 12 to 13 mpg solo. I bought a 2014 Longhorn CC 4x4 DRW 4:10 Aisin and the computer says I am avg. 15 to 17 mpg. I have not towed with it yet. I can only compare computer mileage. However my new truck tells me how many gallons of fuel I have used and I have my mileage. As far as Ford or Chevy you would have to talk to those folks.
