I be unable to find the pricing for used 5th wheel except on NADA. Seems that Kelly RV Blue Book will not come up on my computer. Were would you recommend getting prices on RV's for a guide? Found a 2009 Alpenlite Ridgeline AFQ 36RLSB 5th wheel 4 Slides central vacuum system- big built in generator with fuel tank. I would really like to know what a reasonable price would be for a 5th wheel like this in excellent condition. Don't know what to offer the owner or were a good starting point would be? The owner said he purchased the unit off the assembly line about the time Alpenlite was closing down. He said that he had to have someone to put in a couple of windows. The owner got in poor heath/ heart attack and is unable to use it. I am starting to learn not to get into all excited right away. Trying of avoid make a one of the biggest purchase mistakes in my life. What first sounds good isn’t always true. Didn’t Elvis say; only fouls rush in! Thank you for the help.Chuck

Check out PPL RVs' web site. They post the sold prices of their consignment units. That should give you an idea of what price range would be reasonable.NADA prices are based on a depreciation scale from MSRP, not from actual sales like auto prices are determined. I don't know on what data base Kelly Blue Book establishes their estimates.

From my research, when they came out in 2009, MSRP was $40k, minus average 20% off MSRP. So around $30-35 new. i would say it is quite overpriced, and probably being sold since warranty just expired last year ( 5 yr manufacturer warranty ).

Alpenlite changed after 2004. The originals were all built in house including the frame. Don't judge a 2009 by comments from folks that owned the older ones. There is an " Alpenlite travel club" on Facebook. May get more info there.

A firm came in and "finished" a few unfinished units, more were sold unfinished (a friend bought one). But to my understanding is all were titled as 2008.

I bought ours at the auction and there were a few 2009 models as well as several 5vers and diesel pushers in the factory in different stages of completion.

I'm going to try and give you the best advice I can give you. Search around on used unit sites, look at the guides and find an owners site for the mfg and ask what it is worth on there - THEN decide what YOU would like to pay. If you think it is a good deal, both you and the buyer feel satisfied, you got a good price. Who cares what anyone else says?

We owned a 2008 Alpenlite and it was a good, well built 5er - but from what I've seen looking at used 5th wheels, the seller you're dealing with is priced way too high.

Shop the internet for the model you are looking at, and average the prices. That's full price, negotiate down from there.
