How do I to find average prices for used 5th wheels?

I be unable to find the pricing for used 5th wheel except on NADA. Seems that Kelly RV Blue Book will not come up on my computer. Were would you recommend getting prices on RV's for a guide?

Found a 2009 Alpenlite Ridgeline AFQ 36RLSB 5th wheel 4 Slides central vacuum system- big built in generator with fuel tank. I would really like to know what a reasonable price would be for a 5th wheel like this in excellent condition. Don't know what to offer the owner or were a good starting point would be?

The owner said he purchased the unit off the assembly line about the time Alpenlite was closing down. He said that he had to have someone to put in a couple of windows. The owner got in poor heath/ heart attack and is unable to use it.

I am starting to learn not to get into all excited right away. Trying of avoid make a one of the biggest purchase mistakes in my life. What first sounds good isn’t always true.

Didn’t Elvis say; only fouls rush in!

Thank you for the help.

Do you think $34,000.00 is out of line for a 2009 Alpenlite Ridgeline AFQ 36RLSB 5th wheel 4 Slides central vacuum system- big built in generator with fuel tank in excellent condition? That is a lot of money for the 58 year old kid these days. What to make a good choice.

How do you get a 2009, when they went bankrupt in 2008?

From my research, when they came out in 2009, MSRP was $40k, minus average 20% off MSRP. So around $30-35 new. i would say it is quite overpriced, and probably being sold since warranty just expired last year ( 5 yr manufacturer warranty ).

Actually the warranty expired when they went out of business

  • Check out PPL RVs' web site. They post the sold prices of their consignment units. That should give you an idea of what price range would be reasonable.

NADA prices are based on a depreciation scale from MSRP, not from actual sales like auto prices are determined. I don't know on what data base Kelly Blue Book establishes their estimates.

  • NADA-Guides is really it, on-line

Kelly, and one other who's name I don't recall, are by subscription ($$$) only
