Ours has the open bedroom bath combo. That's the main reason we bought it. In smaller 5'ers room is a premium. In front of the shower there's an area of linoleum. Shower door doesn't leak water and when you open it, it doesn't drip either. By a 5er with quality materials and you will have less issues. We put a bath mat in front of the shower so if anything does drip it won't get on the floor. Sorta like you do at home.
As far as the stink goes, trust me on this one it won't matter what bed/bath combo you have if the toilet or black tank aren't in good working order then the whole trailer will stink.
We have two sliding curtains that block the bed from the bath area and another that blocks the whole upstairs area from the lower living/kitchen area.
We weren't sold on the bed/bath combo idea completely but after having it now for 5 mths and 40 or so nights out. We really like it. It allows 2 people to use the bathroom as opposed to one.
When you start putting it all in one room in smaller 5ers then the bedroom and the bathroom get smaller.
