I had a blowout on our 5th wheel and drove about a 1/2 mile on the shoulder to get off the freeway. I would have driven further if needed. Like a previous poster, I also responded to accidents as an officer on the freeway where someone was working on a vehicle that could have been moved. Some weren't pretty. I'll buy a new rim if needed.
