Notice in the video that as soon the blowout happens, the driver floors the accelerator. Seems wrong but even in an automobile it keeps things going straight and then you can slowly back off of the throttle to slow down and pull off of the road.
    X-2

He must have been flying. I avoid the Interstate Highways in general so I can keep the rig's speed about 60. It's easier on the tires, MPG, and my nerves all at once. I-75 is bumper-to-bumper 80MPH, and if you try to go slower, beware!
I wonder how this gent's insurance will handle this. :0

because FLATS never happen on secondary roads ???

at least this guy had the median to buffer / slow him....on a secondary (2 lane or even an undivided 2 lane) you wouldn't have that !

people die in slower accidents & running BACK ROADS doesnt decrease your chances !

INSURANCE doesnt DENY coverage because of speeding, they might UP your rates but they don't DENY coverage - and theres is no APPARENT gross negligence here so he should be covered !
  • They just increased the square footage of their home. ;)

It does need some caulking around the edges.
  • I also had a blow out going about 60 and never lost control and got off of the highway safely----its all in knowing what to do, no panic, and keeping control of the RV. As many things as they hit they must have been flying and never hit the brakes.
  • There are people that shouldn't be driving MH's.

I had a driver side front tire blow last fall while doing 65 mph on an interstate. The MH did move a few feet to the left and slightly into the passing lane. I kept it under control, however (didn't floor the accelerator) and pulled over to the side of the road where I had the tire changed.

I was also 71 at the time.
