A few years ago it happened to me while traveling South in Mississippi on I-55. The rear on the drivers side blew apart. I slowed immediately and pulled over to the side as far as I safely could to stop. As for wanting to change the tire while traffic was wizzing by...no way. I called 911 and told them my predicament and location and a Highway Patrolman showed up in less than 10 minutes. He pulled behind me about 50 yards or so and put his blue lights on. Now we're getting somewhere! The traffic slowed and ALL pulled over to the inside lane so that I was able to replace the tire safely in about 10-15 minutes. I thanked the officer and we were once again on the road, driving slowly until I reached home in South Louisiana. Yes the tires were China Bombs. Replaced the complete set of tires with GY Marathons, also made in China. In two years time I've had belt separations on 3 of those tires. Luckily all were caught while inspecting in the campgrounds during trips. I have since replaced the tires with Bridgestone LT Duravis R250's and NEVER looked back....literally and figuratively.
In your case, since there was no damage to the RV, as someone else stated, why take a chance driving on it, even slowly, it will fly off the rim in chunks.
