How many here have tailgate clearance issues

I can't do the "V" tailgate thing cause I put a relax pro bedcover on for security when no 5ver was hooked up, so I am looking for any ideas, I was thinking I have to start searching for a tailgate that can swing a door down and then up after hookup or something similar.
Or just try and be very very careful hooking up, I am not so careful all the time unfortunately.
I will watch this subject for ideas.

Custom Flow makes a lockable 5er tailgate with a filler so it is secure.
