I assume your concern isn't so much of folks hearing you from outside the camper as it is folks in the other room hearing or seeing you inside the camper.
We travel with my in-laws quite frequently and they stay with us. These slides/doors were a very large concern for us with my mother-in-law and actually ended up putting quite a few campers on our "no" list. Some close up nicely, some are quite gapped.
It depends on the model. Good luck asking the dealer- they'll think you have 2 heads for asking the question and won't understand what you want them to test out. You have to go play with the specific units and see how they close in person.
