How should I adjust tire pressure to/from mountains

Just before leaving Dallas TX (Altitude 600 ft, hot that day at 98 deg,) I set my Maxxis 16" tire pressures to 80psi as recommended by Maxxis and I headed up to Ruidoso NM (Altitude 7900 ft, cool high...

Never paid any attention to tires for low vs high altitude pressure.

If you have a sleep number bed there is quite the difference between firmness at low vs high altitude.
