- SugarHillCTDExplorerIf there is a worry about theft, think about a hardened chain through the two left or right (or both) pairs of wheels.
Check out Abus. Expensive but really tough locks and chains. - Super_DaveExplorerOkay, you all got me thinking. While searching hitch locks, I saw some wheel locks. Knowing there is no way to stop the committed thieves, that might be the way to slow someone down.
- SugarHillCTDExplorerNo need for thieves to have an Andersen.
In a couple minutes the two large bolts on the Andersen hitch can be backed out and a conventional 5th wheel hitch could hook up to the trailer and be gone.
Bet that just made you comfortable, eh? - Super_DaveExplorerI was referring to the box on the pin so that my trailer doesn’t walk away when left in storage yards. I wouldn’t hesitate to think that trailer thieves on the hunt wouldn’t have a truck with an Andersen hitch in their arsenal.
- WTP-GCExplorerSomeone who steals a 5er is a determined thief. Locks, cables, chains mean nothing to such a person. Any trailer lock I've ever seen is no match for a "high quality" battery operated grinder with a cutting wheel.

AUH - Andersen Ultimate Hitch.
I've never locked any trailer pin or hitch so I can't help you, OP. Since most people use regular fifth wheel hitches I suppose the adapter itself would be somewhat of a deterrent.
Unless you have a really tall gooseneck ball or an AUH how is someone going to steal your rv ? I will say the sorry thief s here inEast Tx are mostly using wreckers to steal any kind of trailer with a lock. They snatch on to them & go somewhere out of site to cut off locks. - mekkerlExplorerOP - are you asking how to lock the adapter part that is on the camper? (so no one takes your camper?)
Or, are you asking how people lock the hitch that is in the bed of the truck? (so no one can easily steal the hitch) - bluie5ExplorerI saw a lock especially for the AUH pin block. It was around $180 and you still needed to provide your own padlock. I think it was on Amazon.
