On the regular companion you have to loosen the 2 U bolts that hold the square shank in the base, then back off the bolt that goes in to the top of the shank. This procedure in reverse when reinstalling, Tighten top bolt to 45 ft/lbs. This is what holds hitch tight to bed floor.
