Hydraulic fluid for Lippert Ground Control

Here is from one of their owner's manuals.
Fluid Recommendation Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) with Dexron®III or Mercon®V or a blend of both is recommended by Lippert Components, Inc. For a list of approved fluid specifications, see TI-188. To obtain this Technical Information sheet online, go to documents/ti-188-hydraulic-operation-fluid-recommendation. Look for TI188: Hydraulic Operation Fluid Recommendation within the listings. NOTE: In colder temperatures (less than 10° F) the jacks may extend
If you have your owner's manual it should show for your specific system.

Is the level low with slides and leveling jacks retracted? If yes, then fill to line.

If jacks are down the reservoir shows low. Don’t make my mistake and add fluid. It makes a huge mess.

Maybe this would be a good time to add some of the additive that LCI recommends, even if Campinfan isn't having the "popping" issue. Sure can't hurt.

Same with the slide outs , make sure they are in before adding fluid. My fifth wheel although we are not talking slide outs came with just plain old hydraulic fluid, but some of the same fifth wheels had the ATF for the slide outs.

It's called anti stiction fluid and I could not find a store that had it. They recommend a couple specific oils and they turned out to be racing fork oil, not a M/C shop had any of heard of them. I did find "slide oil" at an Holiday World RV.

That should be "anti Friction"! Right?

Nope. Stiction is correct. It refers to the tendency of two materials that are at rest against each other to resist movement. Kind of like "sticking". :)

IIRC, one of the recommended products was from Caterpillar.
