I put our truck keys on the crank. But being the truck is your main transportation maybe a 5 to 8 inch piece of colorful cloth hanging from the crank might help.
I have also seen lots of TV antennas up when on the road. The wife and I have tried many times to get the attention of the driver or passenger without any luck.
