- blofgrenExplorerWe’ve been very close to pulling the trigger on the Solitude FLR and more recently the Momentum FLR. It probably would have happened if the prices had not been so high.
Since then we have purchased our current unit which is a triple slide rear living room model with large rear windows which we prefer overall. - Dave_and_SueExplorerWell we really like our front living room Chaparral. At almost 42' the loaded pin weight runs a little under 2500#.That's loaded for a 5-6 week trip,1/2 full fresh water tank. The floor plan works for us.Just the two of us and a little fur baby. The rear bed is nice because being in the rear,no noise from the roads.Stairs not up and down any more than the front bedroom we had before. You go up for bathroom,we go down.AC noise nope the unit is in the kitchen ceiling and in our bedroom.Plenty cool for us.We did change out to the Attwood ac in bedroom.Much quieter. They make different models of 5ers for different people. We just happen to like the front living.

Might've been the #1 hit at RV shows, but apparently not in sales. It's been discontinued for 2018.
I've been in a few of those and it felt cheap. Hard to build quality for $ in 37' - donn0128Explorer IIYup, banc in 2007 when we bought ours Cedar Creek offered a front living room model. It lasted I think for 2 years. Again, no demand ewuals no sales.
- WackAwayExplorerWe love our 2017 KZ Durango Gold 380FLF. The two apposing sofas are fold out sleepers and are really comfortable. Perfect for when our adult offspring join us camping. The reclining theater seat sofa facing forward is my favorite nap spot. As for the heat part, we're outside all day and when it cools down in the evening, it's nice that the warm air rises up to that area. It's usually dark by that time so no view anyway up there. Having the bedroom in the rear of the 5'r allows us to have great sunrise views when we wake up. The KZ has a ton of storage. As much as the non-flv's we looked at. Also with the amount of shoes in the back bedroom, it helps my pin-weight. haha honey!
In the end, its a matter of taste and what best fits your lifestyle. Ours works perfect for us. - FlatBrokeExplorer III remember back in early 2000’s the Alumascape dealer had a new FLR on there lot that was a couple of years old. Said nobody wanted it.

For those of you who mentioned that it gets hot up in the front living room, what about all the trailers with master bedrooms up front? It seems like the majority of the trailers out there have their bedrooms up front, so what about the heat issue with those units?
100% true. My bedroom is hotter. But, as bed time rolls around the temps normally have dropped so a simple Fantastic Fan is enough. We also are not in the bedroom all day.
In fact when it's cold out we close the door to the upstairs bed bath area so we can warm the lower area easier.
I would also add that if you're into dry camping and it's warm out then the FLR will be hotter upstairs you'll need to run a gen most of the time to run the AC. Lantley wrote:
I agree the FLR's may have hotter Lounge area . However that is what A/C is for.
The new units now have quiet A/C which makes having the 2nd A/C going all the time less of an issue.
I don't think the heat is a deal breaker
AGREED ! !
