Actually some of the front living plans have lower pin weights than an equivalent length rear living plan. Check the specs. For example, a Montana 3731FL has a (dry) pin weight of 2,680 at 39'-8". Whereas a 3721RL has a pin weight of 2,840 at 39'-7". That is 140 lbs lighter on the pin for the front living.
It is really personal preference. Those who actually own the front living plans seem to love them. Only real complaint I have heard repeated is that some have a problem with the A/C cooling the living area, at least in some of the earlier models.
