Here is one for you.Our current rig has 2 @ 7,000# Dexter axles. If we go to 8,000# axles, will that legally improve our 5th wheel weight capacity?We are in the throws of the great 5th wheel vs class A debate and are researching what options we have with our current rig.Thanks all!

If you upgraded axles and tires you would move the weakness to somewhere else. Likely the frame. It might be capable. Depends on how it's loaded. As far as legality goes I don't think it would change anything.

As Lincoln and Douglas would have agreed...forget changing an RV, buy an RV that has...already...what you require. Modifying what you have such as was already posted, is moving the...problem...somewhere else. Legally? Both L and D were great lawyers.
