I'd have the springs inspected and if they are ok I'd add Firestone Ride-Rite air bags. Will allow you the best possible ride when empty and loaded.
I was real close to my overload springs so I would get a 2nd bounce on a bump. The air bag lifted me about 2" (close to empty ride height) and gave me a smother ride when towing.
