The values for R value are way overstated for your Avalanche and for most other RVs. Thermofoil in my opinion helps with deflecting heat away from the RV but has little effect on on keeping the cold out. The best way to determine R value is to look at the thickness of the fiberglass batts or rigid foam. Most rigid foam is R5 per 1". An inch of fiberglass is about R3 per 1".
