Is a slider hitch required on GM short beds?

is your trailer 102" wide? Simple measurement will tell how likely a cab crunch will happen. Center of box R/L and one inch forward of rear axle is common pin location. Take a tape 51" long in an arc from that position. This assumes pin is at the leading edge of the front cap.
Off road work needs more checking than above though as off camber situations and dips can affect the clearance greatly.
