There can be a huge difference between two identical trailers of the same model year.
We looked at two 2011 Open Range trailers. Exact same model and model year. One was built in Oct 2010. The other built in Jan 2011. Both were on different dealers lots. The 2010 was some $4,000 less in manufacturers suggested retail price. Our research into this revealed that the Feb built trailer had several upgrades to standard equipment. Things such as the slam hatch latches. And the window treatments. The remote control system. But most importantly the later build version also had JT Strongarms, the Automatic Leveling system, and heat pumps in addition to propane furnace. The Oct model only had typical propane furnace...no heat pumps.
It is not unusual for manufacturers to add standard features and improvements throughout the model year. So look closely at the standard features, and the suggested retail price. Those things will indicate a true difference.
So which one did we buy? The later build, with more features, and the much higher price.
By the way, if the trailer has never been titled to a buyer, it is considered as new. And warranty does not start until it gets titled to an owner.
