So three hour drive you should have a good idea of how it drives and tows!
How were the experiences last Fall? Did you have a great deal of squat? Was it a hand full to drive? Was the towing and driving experance pleasurable?
Did you take the opportunity to weigh the rig.
If the experance was good, I would scale to see where you stand on tire and wheel weights and ratings and then make YOUR decision as to tow over GVWR. Please make sure your tires are up to the job and have enough capacity!
Your diesel will do fine in the hills.

Based on your first post you are asking because others have told you you don't have enough truck. If you want to be within all the numbers, then no you don't, if only worried about axle and tire you likely are within those, only way to know for sure is get it weighed!

Yes, thought I put details in earlier posts. 2016, short bed, camping option yes, diesel. It's the F250 Super Duty.

Swit9, Before you take a severe loss on trading out a relatively new truck, you may not be at a total loss here! Assuming your not "grossly" overrated on the tow weight for your truck, you could as others have mentioned..... upgrade the suspension. If your going to be over on pin weight, you could go with a tire/wheel upgrade. This is not cheap, but will allow you to keep your truck (depending upon your potential loss on getting a new truck). We're going that route with our rig. We're getting 19.5" rims (Rickson Wheel Manufacturing) and getting commercial tires. "Much" higher load rating than factory wheels/tires. it is god to see that some folks believe in finding the facts instead of just automatically get on the dually syndrome.

My largest concern on my bagged F 250 is the max carrying weight of the rear tires.

on that scale issue, i don't know the country the OP lives in but here in corn country, grain elevator scales are all over the place and I have no problem being friendly and getting right on when they are not busy.

So far, no one has even asked what the payload of your truck is, GVWR, Axle Ratings, etc., all critical information needed before you can render a reliable opinion. I'm thinking the late model F250 4x4s, with the diesel option, came with the 18" 350 tires and wheels, unless 20" were ordered.
