is slider hitch really needed with standard box? (6'5")

I have a 3/4 crew cab Silverado classic with a standard box 6 1/2 foot box. I currently have a b&w turnover ball and thinking about getting the companion or companion slider. Either way do I really ...

I can't speak for the Silhouette, but I can tell you from experience that the full size Sabre fifth wheel can contact the back window in a tight turn (at least on a Ford F-350) ... I always use the slider when backing, it only takes one $800 window to make up for the cost of the slider.
