That is a good point.

Minus two. I prefer looking into other peoples campsite while eating. Lots more interesting than looking at my boring campsite. - janegowestExplorerSo many wonderful insights! So valuable for us newbies!! Thank you everyone!!
- ddschumanExplorerOurs is curbside with larger windows by dinette. To me it is nice to be looking at our own campsite and it feels a bit more private. In our previous TT the dinette was street side with decent sized windows (not quite as large) and when we were camping in a campground in Colorado or New Mexico and didn't need AC, I always felt weird sitting at dinette if campers behind me were outside. I could hear their conversations through my windows and it just felt awkward. I like our setup now. Even though it would be nice to have a window to open on street side (other than in the BR) for cross ventilation, it is also nice that I don't have to feel as if I am listening in on the campers behind conversation or see there campsite from my dining window. We normally eat our dinner outside and sometimes lunch too but usually eat breakfast at the dinette. It makes a difference to us but unless that sort of thing matters to you, just pick the floor plan that feels most comfortable and workable for your family. I truly believe the reason so many floor plans are available is because there are so many different people to please. What works for one, may not be desirable for another.
- TakingThe5thExplorerI've had both. Yes-the dinette window is typically one of the largest windows-so do you want privacy or do you want a better view of the campground. Curbside is nice when we family-camp in our large group and want to see who gets up the earliest (Us-obviously-otherwise we couldn't see who got up the earliest), or who just got back, or whatever. Streetside is nice when your neighbor is a new camper and is learning how to use all his equipment-great time to remember some of your own old stories-things you would miss if you were sitting around the campfire. I could ramble on because there's smores but there's smores. :)
- KittykathExplorer IIWe chose curbside so that the kitchen was opposite, and the exhaust and other outlets were not under the awning.

Curb side.Probably,at least 90% of fifthwheels and other RVs have the dining area
on the curb side.Having it on the road side just seems basackwards.
I've had 2 fifth wheels, my parents have had 3 motorhomes, sister has a motorhome, in-laws have a 5er. All have had the dinette on the drivers (street side).
As I search for RVs, I see more dinettes on the driver's side. How has that affected your life in terms of what the other campers here have said, about looking onto the neighbors' lot?
We camp almost exclusively in State Parks / National Rec areas. The sites are large, and we are not on top of our neighbors. The view is just as good on the drivers side as it is on the curb side.
Unless the weather is bad, we eat outside. I don't really care which side the dinette is on, but can honestly not think of an RV that I have been in that has it on the curb side.
I will say that I prefer RVs without slides on the curb side, as I feel that interferes with where we usually sit when outside. - janegowestExplorer

Our tent trailer had a slide out dinette on the drivers side....never really concerned myself with it. Our Jayco TT had the dinette on the campground side and really loved the picture window onto our site. Our first 5er had the couch/dinette on the drivers side and it was ok...but hated looking into thick bushes or our neighbors firepit etc. Our new 5er that just arrived today has the dinette and two loungers on the campground side....and I love it. For sure a personal choice but I like the view of our site.

Bingo!! :B - RollandBExplorerEither works for us but we eat outside as much as possible. Just to call me late for dinner....;)
- avvidclif1ExplorerMy dinette is wherever the DW puts my food...
