Is there really a 1/2 ton towable fifth wheel?
Just got rid of my bumper pull and would like to do fifth wheel but the weights look over what I would expect.

It's the pin weight that is the problem.
I suspect there's a 24 foot 5er out there that might be somewhat safe with a 1/2 ton, but personally, I do not tow anything of substantial weight or regularly with any semi floating (rear) axle.crcr wrote:

Not all long 5er are heavy.- cougar made one. that was about 5 or 6 years ago. don't know if they still do

yep.... their out here here one clicky...however 1/2 ton trucks have had gvwr's up to 8600 lbs and 6k RAWR for carrying 3k payloads in the bed.
Some replies indicate they need to educate themselves better on the different sizes of 1/2 ton trucks and their mechanical abilities.
Now if your looking for a 5th wheel trailer for your 2500 GM truck in sig then your looking at 5ers up to around 12k gross.- Lots of 5th wheels that can be towed by 1/2 ton trucks if the 5th wheel is empty.

- Durango makes 5'ers with GVWR from 9000 - 10,500 pounds. with that said it really depends on what your 1/2 ton is rated for. For example Fords F150 range anywhere from 6000-12,500 depending on which tow package you buy.
