Get the 3500 LONG BED, Aisin trans, factory rear air and 4x4. Don't forget the factory bedlinen and 5er prep.
4x4 is nice when you NEED it for sure. Example backing into a campsite on a grade or raising one side of RV up blocks. Place in 4 low easy cheesy! Or when your wife is coming home and the Nav tells her the wrong route and she calls at dusk saying the truck is stuck on a sandy road. That happened to her! 4wd was worth every penny to me right then. Traveling on a gravel road and it suddenly turns from gravel to sandy gravel and the truck starts to bog down, flip to 4wd. Happened to us out of cell coverage and 5 miles from pavement on a 90 degree day. Again worth every penny.
Aisin trans is a true MD trans with lower starting gears and allows for more engine HP/TQ. Longed means no compromise with the hitch and allows for a nice big toolbox or????
Factory rear air ride is very nice as the truck maintains proper towing level even with 5,800# pin as with my combo.
Bed liner is high quality and having the 7 pin plug in the bed is great along with the puck system.
All the above do cost more but over the time of ownership you will love having them all.
This is the #1 reason a 3500 is the right truck, you WILL step up to a larger RV within 3 years as most do!!!
