I've towed tandem for years, but I will readily admit I can not back up like that. Probably just a matter of practice, but I find it just as easy to drop the boat first, then go back for it.

I saw two rigs like this pull into the campground together at Blue Mesa Reservoir in Southern Colorado a few years back. They both backed the trains into the campsites, dropped the boats, pulled forward, moved over and unhooked the 5ers in no more time than it takes me to just set up my 5er. I was more than impressed.
