That is odd! Huge difference with mine. They must be tightened and then a load applied by bumping the stabilizers up just a bit. Otherwise they won't have any effect.
Very true. They must be under compression or tension by raising or lowering jacks. If you get set up and can then shake them by hand and they rattle they are not helping at all. - abc40kidsExplorerGOOD without a doubt !!!
- therinkExplorerAny mechanism that solidly stabilizes the front landing gear and rear jacks works well. I installed two pair of Bal locking stabilizer bars on mine, 2 front, 2 rear. They should come standard on all. Cost was around 190 delivered for all 4 and piece of cake install.

I run the Steadyfast which is a similar design but with three lock points and it works wonders on my 5er. Best $275 I have spent on the trailer so far.
Either of them are the single best mod for minimizing movement/sway.
X2. Love ours. - camp-n-familyExplorerWorth every penny, best upgrade I made. Good quality, solid components.
- larry_barnhartExplorerWe are very happy to have our JT strong stabilizers and have for years. I agree the setup is important.
chevman - filrupmarkExplorerI didn't want to spend the money. But when I did purchase JT's I found that they are great quality with lots of hardware for mounting in different configurations. When they are tightened and preloaded they work great. Very happy with ours.
- fj12ryderExplorer IIIWe never really noticed the need for them on the older 35' 5th wheel we had, but they are a necessity on the 39' toyhauler we have now. Coffee would slop out of your cup if someone walked around before we mounted them. They make the trailer much, much more solid. Money well spent.
