I use a Trailer Aid Plus for all my maintenance and carry it while on the road. I do have to put a 1X6 under it to get the tire/wheel off. My tire size is 235 80 16. The plus is a little bit higher than the regular. Love it.
I have one, and at its lowest height it will barely squeeze under the axle on flat concrete. It would be useless on an axle with a flat tire or on a rough surface I couldn't scrape down. That was my original plan.
