Had the same thing happen with our 2008 Designer. As others have mentioned, it was a failed brake on the motor for that slide. Also as noted in a prior post, I had to replace the entire motor assembly as the brake, attached to the motor, is not sold as a separate unit. Cost is somewhere north of $600 as I recall, but it did the trick. I never did seriously consider slide braces due to the PITA factor, as well as a concern as to what it might do to the wood trim inside the coach. In any case, I wouldn't hold off doing the repair as it will likely only get worse.
