You just have to be a B&W owner to understand that if you do a simple visual test you can't drop your rv.
Make sure the kingpin and hitch plates are touching, LOCK the handle closed and if you want look to see that the 1 1/8" thick silver (easily visible) jaws are closed around the kingpin. Now you can raise your landing gear and drive off without doing a pull test.
Many B&W owners will agree.
Bottom line do what makes you comfortable!
I always did a pull test with the RBW because I did not trust it.
Question for the OP what brand is your hitch? The reason I ask is from walking the campgrounds for years the TV's with damage usually have a Reese/Valley with a handle that extends towards the side of the bed and then turns up to make it easy to reach.
