I have a similar situation and I kind of shake my head when I see cheap Chinese made ST tires purchased
Theres certainly a lot of talk about the problems with Chinese made ST tires. However, some of the better tires are in fact Chinese made such as Maxxis. The newer Carlisle tires are said to be good although the name equates to problems with tires of not too long ago. Depends on exactly which brand
I don't recall the Maxxis or the newer Carlisle tires being "Cheap" and the context of my post gets lost when only a small part of it is quoted. Discount Tire tried to talk me into buying their newer Carlisle ST tires last fall. I declined because of other very bad results with Carlisle tires on an equipment trailer and also because the newer Carlisle ST Tires has only been out about year at that time. Most, but not all, Chinese ST tires, even the cheap ones, seem to last at least a year. Heavily dependent on mileage. Without knowing about other RV owners problems with Chinese made junk Mission Tires installed OEM by Keystone/Montana on our 5th wheel I might have thought they were good the first year too. They were not. Lets talk about the newer Carlisle ST tire again in about 4 mote years and see what their history is mounted on a heavy 5th wheel with 6 or 7,000 lb axles.
