Our year old rig has the so called China bombs, ( ours are by Westlake) but so far we've gone 11,000 trouble free miles. Our rig is a 2 axle 19,500 TH with 17.5" tires which call for 123 psi. I am fanatic about checking pressure, use TPMS sensors to monitor while driving , and never go above 65 mph the tires are rated.
With all that said, I attended an owners rally last fall at which the tire manufacturers president presented on their product. I asked what the expected mileage live was and he states 15,000 miles on my particualer tire. We'll hit that by next Spring at which time I plan to replace them. For most people , that'd probably equate to 4-5 years, so your time frame is reasonable.
We have the Westlake tires as well. They've been great for about 8000 miles so far. But I keep them at 75-80 psi always and they are always covered when at home.
As noted, the "China Bombs" most refer to are the TowMax tires. Yes, the 235-80-16 E rated tires that so many mainstream toy haulers came with. Hopefully that is changing.
I still remember calling Heartland about my blowout and how they tried so hard to convince me the TowMax tires were the greatest tire they've ever used and nobody had complained. Makes me chuckle.
