I have a thread going in the General RVing section on replacing my power cord - the mice ate the insulation off it! So far, it seems that's ALL they ate....
Regarding mouse/rat poison: there's a new breed of poison called "Second Generation" (I know one of the active ingredients is brodifacoum) - and it's a HORRIBLE thing. Anyone using it should have it locked down in a bait station - but even then....
If a mouse eats some, it takes about 5 to 7 days to kill the mouse. During that time, if anything eats that mouse (Hawk, owl, cat, dog, fox, etc... or if a coyote, skunk, raccoon eat the dead mouse) - it will kill the next animal, too. I had used some at our business, putting the blocks in places my dogs couldn't get to - but a mouse must have dragged a block into the open and my dog ate part of it. It took 8 weeks of medicine and blood testing to save his life.
Also - because it's sold in a brightly-colored block and smells like fresh-baked bread, there have been cases of children being poisoned by it, too :-(
