Yeah, all those things that smell really nice; peppermint oil, dryer sheets, Cabfresh, etc. don't really do much, in my experience and opinion. I used to have a cat who got old and ill, then went a couple of years without one. Mice in the fiver, chewing on truck wiring, a regular mouse party at my place in spite of all the nice smelling stuff I put all over. Adopted 3 cats, mouse problem went away. Love seeing them lounging around under the fiver.
To OP, guess in your situation I would keep using the poison and hope they leave.
