DW and I went to check on the 5er today. Mice have invaded again. We had poison out, all gone. Also had cotton balls spread around with the peppermint oil on them. Found a nest with peppermint scented...

I used some brass wool instead of steel just for the rust problem. Stuffed all the holes I could find, then filled in with foam sealer around the brass. Seems to have worked pretty well.
A side thought... I wonder how many of these other "remedies" we would be so fond of if they didn't smell so good? I have used them as well, and it could be worse if they smelled like dirty feet!
