I have two 15A inlets like that. One is to a switch on the converter to run in from my Honda eu1000i generator and the other is to the water heater. I have a Freedom 10 inverter. So I can run the TV and sat stuff off the inverter and change with the converter/Honda while dry camping. Inverter will run microwave where the small generator will not.
I installed cord caps on the water heater lead and can switch it to it's own circuit. The free's up the 30amp circuit for other loads! Heater and hair blower or microwave!
