keeping plugged in

Should I keep my trailer plugged in all winter. Or should I unplug it for awhile and shut off the battery disconnect. Don't want to have to take out the batteries to hard to get at the trailer with the snow piled up against the front compartment. Its a 2014 Lincoln rushmore
  • back in my beer drinking days I stored my extra beer in my fridge and then I got a beer tap. but I have always kept my TT's plugged in and the fridge running year round. never lost a fridge or a battery. to this day and 6 TT's later still have it plugged in and ready to go on a moments notice. this came in handy around here as they were burning the military gas bombs and one morning at 6 am the sirens went off. we were I think the only ones who scrambled and left town. turned out it was a false alarm but we were ready to go

Be honest. It's your man cave when at home, so the fridge is stocked with beer! :B

  • I leave mine plugged in but put a timer on it that is "on" about an hour a day.
  • As ScottG said, it depends on your converter/charger. I keep mine plugged in 24x7x365 for 19 years now! (4 different RV's of course).
  • Depends entirely on your converter/charger.
We have a full three stage charging so we never unplug.
Would help if you filled out your signature and told us what rig you have.
  • I'm not a fan of longtime plugin but I do think you should check batteries at least monthly.
