Don't believe it'll look the same in 10 years.....just didn't care for the rips on how crummy American made 5er's are..."NOT ALL" are...Don't know if that is what upset me or the fact it was coming from someone who isn't a US citizen..Sorry, not trying to hurt anyone's feeling, but I think it's ok for those of us who live here to knock the quality, but for someone else who wishes the US made 5er's would have never been imported to Australia, just rubbed me the wrong way. If I offended anyone, I apologize, ...heck, those of you in Australia who don't like American made 5er's...don't buy them...eventually importation of said 5er's will end.

Well and truly knock the quality as it was a major reason people steer clear of 5vers in the first place here, plus other reasons. Do not get me onto Jeeps, as they are in meltdown here, FCA in general. If both were acceptable quality and reliability, they would be selling up a storm here.. Well they are not buying US 5vers,this company is trying locally produced ones Just recently, some Winnebago Minnie Winnie's Travel Trailers(20)were imported by Winnebago Australia. They eventually could not sell the last two and gave them to charity.
This frustrated RVer, is building his own, progress on the Caravanners Forum site, it is a 36ft one to be pulled by a a 2005? Chevrolet Dually .
Big and cheap (at least some) but not particularly pretty.
We have an American truck camper and it is almost as bad (in our opinion) as many 5th wheelers.
Bad in terms of flimsy appliances, sinks, taps, hinges . you name it. The designs are ancient, dull, dark,
boring and if they would have a wall clock they look like the living room of my great grand mother.
They have a very center of gravity and most are very cheaply built.
Although Australian vans get knocked about their build quality, a lot of manufacturers have advanced over the very traditional, never changing appearance of the US products. And that is true for 5th wheelers and travel trailers. Most Australian design nowadays are lighter, far more modern and practical in every day use. I mean I am not talking about chassis, off road, insulation, payload etc. These are points which still have a lot to be desired but from an optical point of view Australian vans are much nicer and Europeans for that matter although I do not like the seat/bed concept and a few other things.
Jeeps...I've owned them since 1982....Jeep Scrambler, Wranglers, Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited's, Jeep Compass, Jeep Cherokee's, a 2015 Cherokee Limited now. In all those years, (34 years), I've NEVER had the first issue with any of them and FCA hasn't owned them all that long...Again...Don't buy American...send it all back...Protest about them and maybe exportation will end..you can always hope. Again, hard for me to listen to all the complaints about American made products, you know, "pride goeth before the fall"...If you don't like it...don't buy it.
Good luck on your build..I'm a firm believer that if you want it done right.....Do it yourself...
