Keystone Cougar (2010) Cable ?

New trailer for us (3326 MKS). I see that we have a satellite hookup on the side of the trailer where the the fresh water wash down is. On the other side in the basement there is a 110v power plug and a coax connection. Is that to hook an outside TV, or is that where I would hook up campground cable if they have it (sure didn't work when we tried to hook a TV to it).

  • Turn the booster in the bedroom on and crank up the antenna. You will get digital channels. Hook up coax to outside source that has cable and turn off booster to get cable TV. Hook up satellite coax from dish to sat hookup in water closet and mount receiver in bedroom on the generic cable port and you will get satellite channels. (Again, make sure the booster is off.)
Had the same camper and didn't like the idea of mounting the receiver in the bedroom so I rewired it to be in living area. Basically, I ran a new wire to the watercloset port from the TV area in the living room.
  • We went through the same issue with our 2014 Keystone. Neither coax jack was labeled. By connecting the inner core to the outer shield on the trailer connector, I could go inside and use an ohm meter to figure out what connector went where. I hate that trailer, wish I never bought it. Falls apart every time we tow it.
  • Thanks - then that one is "broke". TV won't pick up any digital stations. I'm guessing that trying to find where this "tees" to the main is going to be impossible.

    UPDATE:
I found a booster in the bedroom....how does that work? Does it need to be on for the basement connection to work?. There is a coax loop right now (both connectors connected to each other) does that stay that way?
  • I have a 2010 SAB and the one where the fresh water hookup is says it's for Satellite. Just this weekend I hooked up campground cable and it worked great. The one on the other side is for outside tv viewing.
  • That is for a TV to watch outside. Cable and satellite hook up on the other side. I have one for cable, and one for satellite.
