Personally I will be shocked if the da’King does not get a reality check from upper management in the end. If not then we will know that this company is headed for the corporate scrap heap like so many others that have lost their focus. It may take some time but the outcome is inevitable.
I seriously doubt Keystone is on the way to the scrap heap as they have the most popular fifth wheel (Montana) in sales in America and many other popular models, toyhaulers, and TT's. And their Fuzion is one of the most popular toyhaulers. I also seriously doubt that the da'King will get a reality check as he/she was doing their job. But, you may be right and time will tell.
If anything da'King might have steered the CW folks and the OP in a better direction but the principle of the thing is that OP and CW did not take this in the correct direction. That is the principle of the thing, not a few dollars spent to fix it. It is not about Keystone or da'King, it is about CW asking the right question to the right folks. They are the dealer, they should know.
I seriously doubt Keystone has lost focus as they just survived the recession intact, did not close the doors, and are leaders in some models in RV sales. How is that losing focus? A lot of RV companies went under in the last five years, maybe they lost focus.
At Montana rallys there is nothing but praise for Keystone's customer focus and attention. But, I guess when the OP and CW ask Keystone for something they are not responsible for and get a 'no' answer you may think they have lost their focus.
This issue is not limited to just Keystone, many major RV manufacturers do the same thing. In fact, one of the largest truck cabover camper manufacturers went through this same thing in the last few years with some customers and now clearly state in their warranty that applicances are outside the scope of the basic frame and coach warranty. Maybe Keystone could make warranty coverage a little clearer so a Navy pilot could understand it and CW could call the correct applicance manufacturer. Again, time will tell.
I don't own a Keystone product, don't work for them, don't work for any RV dealer either; but I do have issue with a first time poster slamming a manufacturer for a trivial thing that the OP might have in fact caused the problem, that the manufacturer is not responsible for, and that the OP could have stated and documented in a more responsible and positive manner.
You state that the "outcome is inevitable". What outcome? That the OP reads the warranty paperwork that came with the coach? That CW knows who to call for warranty help? That Keystone is expected to fix under warranty applicances outside the scope of the coach warranty because customers don't understand the warranty provisions? What outcome is inevitable?
