Live and learn... Most of us have been doing this for years and know that if a device/appliance breaks during warranty periods, that you should go to the manufacturer for repair/replacement. Keystone could not possibly stay in business if they had to stock all the individual components required to repair all the various devices they install to make an RV. On our first trip in our new (then) 318SAB, the Dometic refrigerator died. Never even occurred to me to call Keystone; first call was to Dometic and a new cooling unit was on its way that same day. In the future, bear that in mind, and it is true for all RV manufacturers; they warranty the structure, not the appliances contained in it. If the microwave dies, contact the manufacturer of the microwave, if the television dies, contact the maker of the television. Depending on where you bought your unit, the dealer either sent in the warranty cards (they did for my 5er) or the warranty cards should have been included with all the paperwork in the packet containing user manuals (my old FunFinder had a whole stack of cards I had fill out and send in). That's just the way RVs work. As far as the problems go, most of your problem could have been avoided if CW had contacted Suburban directly and they should have known better, the process wasn't just implemented, its been that way for as long as I can remember. Keystone did drop the ball by not, politely, informing you that they don't handle water heater warranty issues, but, the manufacturer (Suburban in this case) would be happy to take care of them...
As for a "bumper to bumper" warranty? No such thing in an RV. Just like your brand new house. If the roof leaks, you call the builder, if the dishwasher dies, you don't call the builder, you call the dishwasher manufacturer; the appliances come with their own warranties. Your RV is a rolling house and is treated the same way.
